Clay Smith will take over Co-Lin baseball program

Former Co-Lin Wolfpack baseball player Clay Smith is the school's new head baseball coach. Smith will be formally introduced at a news conference Monday at 1 p.m. in Rea Auditorium and the public is invited to attend.

Smith will replace Keith Case, who will retire at the end of the season after 21 years.

"We are very excited to bring Clay Smith back to Co-Lin as our head baseball coach," said Co-Lin President Dr. Ronnie Nettles. "He is highly regarded as recruiter and will provide outstanding leadership to a Co-Lin program that has a history of being successful. All of our coaches understand they have a tremendous responsibility to carry on a tradition of athletic success at Co-Lin."

"I am very happy to be named the head baseball coach at Co-Lin," said Smith. "I appreciate Dr. Nettles giving me this opportunity and would like to thank the members of the selection committee. I would especially like to thank Coach Keith Case, for the hard work and dedication that he has put into the baseball program. I look forward to building on the foundation that he has set."

"Smith is currently in his 10th season as Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator under Head Coach Hill Denson at Belhaven University.
