JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Jackson Police Department has numerous officers saturating the Silas Brown Street area after finding items believed to have been worn by a shooter Thursday morning.

Officer say one man in his late teens or early 20s was shot in his upper right leg just before 10 a.m. on Walnut Street. The victim was conscious when officers and first responders arrived on scene.

A witness on the scene claims a black male with dreads wearing a black shirt and blue jeans actually went into the residence and fired several shots. The suspected shooter was last seen walking on Silas Brown Street.
