Hinds County Sheriff's walk for long time Lieutenant

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The law enforcement community is rallying behind one of their own. Lt. Kim Harrison of the Hinds County Sheriff's department suffers from multiple sclerosis.

The 18 year deputy and military veteran continues battling the disease while remaining active in her current role as lieutenant.

The MS walk will benefit Harrison along with others who fight against the potentially debilitating disease. Multiple sclerosis affects the outer protective layer of the nerves, resulting in the deterioration of the actual nerve.

Sheriff Tyrone Lewis and Lt. Harrison visited our studio and spoke about the benefits of attending Saturdays event.
