Civil rights activist and author Dr. Myrlie Evers-Williams delivered the main address at The University of Mississippi's 160th commencement Saturday.
She charged students to soar, not only for themselves or the state of Mississippi, but for all mankind.
The widow of Medgar Evers also accepted the Humanitarian Award honoring her and her slain husband's memory.
Deeply moved by the honor, Evers-Williams did not make an acceptance speech, but she did comment in a later press conference about what the honor meant to her.
