Bomgar - Business Matters

RIDGELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A metro area company and innovator is not just celebrating their 10th year in business, they are also being celebrated for creating jobs. Bomgar CEO and founder, Joel Bomgar already employs 210 people worldwide, and he is currently looking to fill more than a dozen positions at their Ridgeland headquarters.

If you are lucky enough to land a job with the IT software company you would become a part of one of Mississippi's best places to work according to several publications, including the Mississippi Business Journal.

Employees seem to appreciate Bomgar's laid back approach.

"We try to keep everything casual," Bomgar said. "People can wear whatever they want including shorts and flip-flops."

Workers also benefit by getting free snacks and drinks from the vending machines, plus once a week Bomgar picks up the tab for lunch.

A laid back approach does not mean productivity takes a back seat. In 2012, Bomgar set a revenue record with $43 million in sales, which was a 34 percent increase from 2011.

Since starting the business in 2003 with some college buddies, months after graduating from Belhaven University, sales are in the hundreds-of-millions of dollars.

Bomgar provides remote technical support for some of the world's elite enterprises.  Clientele includes Intel, IBM, Hewlett Packard and Dell, amongst scores of others. Their product is being used by 7,500 corporate customers in 65 different countries.

Inc. Magazine recognized Bomgar has one of the nation's best private job creators in 2012 and the Mississippi state senate followed suit by making a proclamation concerning the company's successes.

All that success has set the stage for a banner year in 2013, a year the tech company will be celebrating its 10th anniversary. Speaking of the anniversary and employee benefits, Bomgar plans to celebrate a decade in business in Disney World. He is taking all employees worldwide to the iconic, Orlando, Fla., theme park.

Just another perk of being on the payroll at one of the nation's fastest growing tech companies. "Having a job is what most people spend most of their day doing and being able to provide a job that people love, really making a difference and where they're interacting with worldwide companies is a big deal to be doing all that here in Ridgeland," Bomgar said.

With offices in Europe and Asia, the lion-share of employs are in Ridgeland. 120 currently work at the Bomgar offices on Highland Colony Parkway.

And with 14 more employees being added in the near future that is welcome news for the Magnolia State's economy.
