Lumumba wins Jackson Democratic Party Runoff

It's a "hump day" Wednesday afternoon in the Jackson metro area under the threat of some severe weather. I'm Howard Ballou with a look at some of the news stories you will see on WLBT.

The votes are in, and preliminary results show Chokwe Lumumba has come out on top in the Democratic Party Runoff Election against Jonathan Lee, who says he has no regrets.

Arnel Bolden came out on top in the runoff for Canton's top job, but not without an altercation as ballots were being counted.

And, British officials are saying one man is dead and two others were injured in a possible terrorist attack in London.

In sports, find out how Ole Miss and Mississippi State are doing in the SEC baseball tournament.

Clear skies and 81 degrees, but it feels like 83 in the metro and we're bracing for a weaker version of the storm system that hit Oklahoma. Don't miss your full First Alert Forecast.

Of course, you will see any breaking news first on WLBT and you can follow us on Facebook, Twitter and www.msnewsnow.com.
