Brandon siblings become movie stars

BRANDON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Eight-year-old Aiden Flowers of Brandon has not been keeping busy with video games this spring.

"I've been shooting a movie with Katherine Heigl called North of Hell," said Brandon.

For three weeks, this Stonebridge Elementary School student has been New Orleans acting alongside A-list actors in the dark comedy produced by Darko Entertainment. His parents prefer to title the movie "NOH" in the company of their son, and 7-year-old twin daughters, who are also movie stars.

"I've been in two, I've been in three," Carson and Camden Flowers said, regarding the number of movies they've had roles in.

The girls, students at Rouse Elementary, say their favorite movie shoot so far has been Runaway Hearts. The independent film produced by UFO Canyon touches on topics such as child neglect and drugs. The girls were on the set in New Orleans for several months last year, switching off in one of the main roles, a girl named Angel.

"She lost her real father. She doesn't really know where he is," said Camden.

These budding careers began by seizing a chance opportunity.

"There's this thing we heard on the radio," Aiden says. It was one of those ads that dad Anthony and mom Mandye thought was probably a gimmick.

But the children were persistent.

"If they had not begged to respond to the radio ad, we never would have done it," Anthony says.

Mom and Dad say they made multiple trips to the Crescent City for acting and modeling lessons after learning it was all legitimate.

"We went on Saturday and Sunday for about six hours for four weeks," Mandye says. "They've had tons of auditions this year."

So far, the family says they've broken even financially with the acting. But perhaps the arms of these siblings have broken through the ceiling when it comes to reaching for the stars.
