JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Three men have been arrested in connection to a Jackson drug bust and the discovery of an alleged dog fighting ring.

Officer Colendula Green with Jackson Police Department says on May 23, JPD's Vice and Narcotics Division responded to a house in the 6200 block of West Wide Road in the Tugaloo Community regarding drug complaints and illegal dog fighting.

When officers arrived on scene, a search warrant was executed and police found 292 grams of high grade marijuana and a Taurus .357 handgun. The items were seized from the home, in addition to eight pit bulls and two treadmills believed to be used for dog fighting.

Officers arrested Anthony D. Logan, 28, Fredrick A. Logan, 34, and Marcus D. Washington, 38. Each is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Washington's charge was enhanced due to the fact he was also in possession of a handgun. Washington will also be charged with felony dog fighting due to the fact he was in possession of two treadmills. All eight pit bulls were picked up by The Small Animal Control Division of the Police Department.

According to Small Animal Control, Washington will also be cited for 12 violations of city ordinances concerning the upkeep of his dogs.

The marijuana has a street value over $2,000, according to Officer Green.
