COPIAH COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Copiah County coroner has released the identities of the two men who fell from a cell phone tower and died Tuesday afternoon.

Michael A. Castelli, 42, of Baton Rouge, LA, and Johnny Martone, 32, of Taylorsville, MS, both died of massive blunt force trauma, according to the coroner.

Copiah County Sheriff Harold Jones said Tuesday it appeared a "catastrophic failure of a cable" caused the two men to plunge to their deaths from the tower. The tower is located on Highway 27 north of Highway 28 in Georgetown.

Jones said the men were trying to put new antennas on the top of the tower.

The coroner says the men were climbing up the 300-foot tower and were about halfway up when they fell.

Jones said the men's bodies have been taken to the Mississippi Crime Lab for examination.

The Copiah County Sheriff's Office is working closely with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration as they investigate.
