JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

After gunmen rained bullets on a west Jackson neighborhood, killing one and injuring several others, police say they have made two arrests less than 24 hours after the shooting spree.

Jackson Police Department Spokesperson Colendula Green confirms two arrests have been made in connection to the Sunset Plaza Apartments shooting. Twin brothers, Jaquarius and Marquarius Bell, both 21, will each be charged with four counts of aggravated assault. More arrests are expected.

Four people were shot and a fifth person grazed by a bullet. Police say one person is dead, and another remains in critical condition.

Officer Green says as many at 200 rounds may have been fired. Hundreds of bullets went flying across several streets, including Loraine and Coleman Streets.

Police were called to Sunset Plaza Apartments on Liberty Street just before 7 p.m. Monday night. Officer Green says it is believed the shooting began in the parking lot of the apartment complex and moved to a nearby neighborhood.

An elderly resident, suffering from cancer, explains that her home on Liberty Street is now riddled with bullets.

"There are about 10 to 12 rounds where they've shot into my house and broke up everything," describes resident Catherine Hampton. "[There] are holes all over the walls on the outside and the inside."
