NEW ORLEANS, LA (WWL-TV) -

According to WWL-TV, the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office has confirmed through dental records that the body found inside of a car pulled from the bayou this weekend is that of Terrilynn Monette and that the cause of death is drowning.

Reports are that Monette's family returned to New Orleans from California to search for the missing Jefferson Parish school teacher.

She went missing March 2, 2013.

A dive team found Monette's car Saturday in a bayou near the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Wisner Boulevard in New Orleans.

According to WWL-TV, State Representative Austin Badon said he and Michaud who found Terrilynn Monette's car want the $20,000 Crimestoppers reward to go to help with the funeral.

Crimestoppers says the reward only pays out if NOPD determines that foul play was involved. If not, money raised by Monette's family will go back to the family.
