DIAMONDHEAD, MS (WLOX) -

More bears are popping up in South Mississippi, this time in Diamondhead. Captain Al Hermann with the Diamondhead Police Department told WLOX News a 250-300 lb. bear was spotted around 7pm Tuesday in the Glen Eagle area, right across from the country club.

He told us the bear was last seen heading into the woods near Turnberry Drive. Three of the department's officers and several locals have seen the bear.

Wildlife officials encourage people not to feed the bears and not to threaten them. If you see a black bear, please call 1-800-BE-SMART.
