JONES COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Jones County woman is facing multiple charges after authorities say she smuggled methamphetamine into the Jones County Adult Detention Center in one of her body cavities.

Teresa Bond was picked up on a felony warrant after a deputy spotted her in her vehicle in Ellisville, according to a press release from the Jones County Sheriff's Department.

Bond reportedly told a correctional officer several times that she didn't have any contraband on her while she was being booked into the jail. The correctional officer conducted a strip search and asked Bond to "spread and cough," according to the press release.

The correctional officer "then observed a clear plastic baggie located in the vaginal area," the press release stated. The baggie reportedly contained a crystal-like substance.

Bond is facing two counts of possession of methamphetamine and one count of bringing contraband into a correctional facility.

She remains in the Jones County jail on $40,000 bond.
