Canton native and basketball standout McDarion Abron passed away Thursday morning of an apparent heart attack, according to friends.
'Mac-D' as he was affectionately known, was just 20-years-old.
Abron graduated from Canton High School in 2012 and spent this past year at Alcorn St., redshirting on the basketball team. Recently he decided to leave Alcorn and had signed to play next season at Pearl River Community College.
Former teammates and friends in the basketball community have shared their thoughts on the passing of Abron across the internet and on Twitter.
"Man this goes out to my big bro Mac D. I woke up denying all this. Bro Rest In Peace, never met a funnier person in my life," says Jamal Hester.
Tyler Adams adds, "R.I.P. Mac-D. My prayers go out to you and your family."
"R.I.P. to my boy Mac-D. He really had something going for himself; [I] just wish God didn't have to take him away," mourns Xavian Rimmer.
