RIDGELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A domestic dispute at a hair salon in Northpark Mall lands a Jackson man behind bars Sunday afternoon.

Lieutenant John Neal with the Ridgeland Police Department explains officers were called to the Northpark Mall Sunday around 2:45 p.m. Officers went to the Regis Salon in reference to a domestic dispute between a female worker at Regis and the father of her daughter.

The father, 40-year-old Kevin Demetemris Jones, reportedly displayed a knife in a threatening manner towards the mother, demanding to know the whereabouts of his daughter. The mother gave a location to Jones and he left the scene prior to law enforcement arriving.

The victim pursued domestic violence charges against Jones and he later turned himself in to Ridgeland Police Department where he is currently being held at the Madison County Detention Center under no bond pending an initial appearance.

No injuries were reported in the incident and no weapon was recovered from Jones.
