PEARL, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The case against a man accused in a hit-and-run that injured a man in Pearl Monday is heading to a grand jury.

Shawn Roberts, 23, of Pelahatchie, is charged with felony leaving the scene of an accident. He has posted $25,000 bond.

According to Lt. Butch Townsend with the Pearl Police Department, Robert Allen Fly, 49, was struck by a vehicle at 5:45 a.m. Monday on a service road off of Highway 80 east. The motorist fled the scene.

Pearl police collected evidence from the scene, including a rear view mirror, that led them to Roberts' Pontiac Montana. Authorities believe Roberts went to work after the accident.

Townsend says Roberts admitted to his role in the accident.

Fly remains in serious condition at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
