ATOKA, TN -

(WMC-TV) - Two men are facing multiple charges after deputies discovered the largest spice operation in Tipton County history.

Tavis Fox, 35, and Jason Forbess, 34, were arrested Tuesday for manufacturing and selling synthetic drugs known as "spice".

The operation was going on inside a home on Atoka-Idaville Road, where Fox was renting a room.

"It's just like distributing cocaine, marijuana, or heroin," says Chief Donna Turner, Tipton County Sheriff's Office.

Pictures taken just after bust show the finished spice and chemicals used to make it.

In all, 34 pounds of the drug were recovered. It had a street value of over a $100,000.

"It's produced to look exciting to kids. Its attractive to them," explained Chief Turner.

Deputies say Fox and Forbess were also selling these drugs on the Internet.

Spice is highly addictive and is known by various names.

"California Dream, Mind Trap, Mad Hatter, Joker," says Turner.

Deputies say Fox and Forbess were more than likely selling these drugs to a young audience.

"We've taken this source out. They will find others and we will continue to hunt down these who want to distribute it," added Turner.

Deputies in Tipton County are also working with the DEA to ask that federal charges be brought against the two men.
