JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Women who have suffered a heart attack are afraid, or embarrassed, to talk with their doctors about one aspect of their recovery.

A survey of women who had recently suffered a heart attack revealed most of them, and their partners, were afraid to have sex again. However, it was a topic many did not bring up with their doctor. Of those who did, they were unhappy with their doctor's response.

The researchers say it is important for doctors to ease concerns about sex after a heart attack and encourage their patients to come to them with any question they may have.
