CLINTON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Mississippi's Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities team is heading to the RBI World Series for the first time in program history.

The Mississippi Warriors won the Southwest Regional championship in July and will now battle seven other teams in the World Series which begins Aug. 3 in Minnesota.

"This is something that I always dreamed of and wanted to do is travel and play baseball. This is just a big opportunity for me to show people that I'm from Jackson, Miss., and I can play ball," said infielder Kaelyn Young.

"We just show that Jackson has work ethic, and they love to play ball," said infielder Kedryn Wright.
