TUPELO, Miss. (AP) - Construction of a new bridge on the Natchez Trace Parkway is moving toward projected opening in May 2014.
WTVA reports the bridge is just south of the Visitor Center.
Acting Superintendent Dale Wylkerson says the bridge is 1 of 2 that will be on the Northern Loop, a new main artery in Tupelo near the Mall at Barnes Crossing. Construction is about 35% complete.
Wylkerson says drivers need to slow down in the construction zone because crews are working close to traffic lanes.
