Firestarter

Good Thursday morning from MSNewsNow's Brandon Artiles!

It's 71 degrees and as promised, but not necessarily welcomed, the high for today creeps back up into the mid-90s.  So, summer continues and meteorologist Michael Haynes will break the weather down for us in his First Alert Forecast.

Happening now, a man suspected of setting a downtown Jackson building on fire is preparing to face a judge this morning.  Police tell us why they believe Clint Newsome is behind the arson and what ultimately led to him torching the place.

Plus, the Affordable Care Act, a.k.a. Obamacare, will be protested by two conservative groups asking to be exempt from the federal health care law. Jewell Hillery will have details on why they are protesting in live reports from the State Capitol.

And, college football kicks-off tonight with the Ole Miss Rebels playing on national TV against the Vanderbilt Commodores.  We'll preview the SEC, season-opening showdown.

All of those stories and much more are headed your way at the top of the hour.

Please join us from 5 to 7 and for more Mississippi News Now you can find it on Fox 40 from 7 to 9.

Have a great Friday eve!
