BRANDON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Rankin County Sheriff's Department needs your help in capturing a pair of suspected auto burglars.

Authorities received three reports of auto burglaries early in the morning over the past two weeks in the Hugh Ward Boulevard area.

The male and female suspects were captured on surveillance video in a local Walmart.

They're described as a clean cut, slender black male and a heavy set white female. The pictures were taken inside the Walmart on Highway 18 in Jackson, where they used a stolen credit card to buy cat food and windshield wipers.

Investigators say they believe they're driving a gray colored, older model Nissan Maxima with a white oval bumper sticker. So far they've taken purses, electronics and weapons in multiple break-ins spanning over a three-week period.

"Actually that's probably what they're doing. The same scenario we had before is one person will drive a car down the street, the other person will go start checking car doors unlocked. They'll go through a vehicle, grab what they can, move on to the next one till they get enough," Sheriff Bryan Bailey said.

Bailey says the best way to avoid being a victim of an auto burglary is to secure valuables.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff's department at 601-825-1644.
