West Nile numbers continue rising

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

More human West Nile Virus cases are reported by the Mississippi State Department of Health. This week there are four new cases. Two of those cases are in Hinds County and there is one each, in Rankin and Lamar counties.

There have been 27 lab-confirmed human WNV cases in Mississippi in 2012, including one death. Previous cases have been reported in Bolivar, Forrest (3), Hinds (9), Jones, Lamar (3), Leflore (2), Lincoln, Lowndes, Madison, Marion, Rankin (3) and Wayne counties.
