Billy Hamilton has shown off his speed since being called up to the Cincinnati Reds a few weeks back, but Thursday he put all his skills on display.
The Taylorsville native got his first start as a big leaguer and made the most of it.
Hamilton went 3-5 (including his first career hit), drove in his first run, walked twice and scored two runs. During those 5 times on base, the rookie speedster also stole 4 bases.
He becomes the first player to steal 4 bases in his first career start in the live ball era (dating back to 1920). His efforts helped Cincinnati beat Houston 6-5 in 13 innings.
