Warren County manhunt ends

WARREN COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Mississippi Highway Patrol officials say the manhunt in Warren County is over and the suspect is in custody.

Law enforcement had cornered the suspect just off Interstate 20 between Bovina and Flowers Wednesday morning and were trying to get him to surrender. The FBI was on the scene to coordinate.

Hinds County deputies and troopers with the Mississippi Highway Patrol chased the suspect on I-20 Tuesday night and he crashed his Toyota truck near the Flowers exit.

MHP spokesperson Eric Henry said the suspect was armed and dangerous.

The suspect, who is described as a white male, was stopped because of drugs. When he fled the traffic stop, two agents received minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.
