(WMC-TV) - The Memphis Public Library's 211 system has been flooded with calls about the Affordable Care Act. There are a number of ways the library is helping the uninsured meet a very important deadline.

Like many Americans, Memphian James Sanderson has questions about the new health law.

"How much it's going to cost, if it's full coverage, what's the difference between what I'm getting now, and what it's gonna be," said Sanderson.

The Memphis Public Library is offering one hour health care information sessions at branches around the city.

"We want to be able to provide current accurate information," said Ron Reid with the Memphis Public Library.

Reid recommends signing up online and the library is open to those who do not have computers.

"And our staff have all been informed about how to direct the customer to get to the website, but once they get on the website they've kind of on their own," said Reid.

They have created a special link on the library systems homepage. The library's 211 information line has become health care central.

Some are concerned about whether legislation that has been labeled affordable will fit into their budget. But they are willing to explore their options.
