Throughout high school Lafayette Wales had played wide receiver on offense. When Ron Jurney took the head coaching position at Canton Academy this off-season he decided it was time for Wales to change positions.
Coach Jurney put the senior in the backfield and Wales has not looked back.
This season he's rushed 736 yards and 8 TD's through 6 games. Wales is a big reason the Panthers are 4-2 in position to make the playoffs with a big game at Tri-County Friday.
