Open for business

Good Thursday morning from MSNewsNow's Brandon Artiles as life after the partial government shutdown begins, but we'll get to that in a moment.

We're starting the day at 63 degrees and it's a bit hazy. It also looks like you may need to take an umbrella as you head out today and meteorologist Michael Haynes will let us know when the rain is expected to let-up in his First Alert Forecast.

Happening now, thousands of furloughed federal employees are getting ready to head back to work after Congress struck an 11th hour deal ending the partial government shutdown and raising our nation's credit limit. But the word is, Washington has just kicked the can down the road, so how long before we're talking about this again? We'll have answers in live reports from our nation's capitol at 5 and 6.

Plus, another battle is ensuing in the health care industry as HMA and Blue Cross Blue Shield disagree on terms. Now, two metro hospitals are not ready to make a deal with the insurance provider which would end a contract lockout.  We'll tell you why and the impact on patients in the WLBT AM Report.

All those stories and much more are headed your way at the top of the hour.

Please join us from 5 to 7 and for more Mississippi News Now we'll see you on Fox 40 from 7 to 9.

Have a great Friday eve!
