JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson Police are investigating a multiple shooting that has left one person dead. It happened Wednesday (3/11/2009) on Moon Street, off Prosperity Street near Woodrow Wilson Avenue.

Jackson Police responded to 175 Moon Street just before 4 p.m. where they found a man lying dead in the front yard. Officers were told two others were shot. They are also investigating the report of a fourth possible victim.

"I heard the gunshots and I ran down that way, came across the fence, and I saw randy dead," said Greg Stewart, who was down the street.

Police say 24 year old Randy Singleton of Jackson was fatally shot in the upper torso. He did not live at the residence. Greg Stewart was nearby when he says he saw a man clinging to the outside of a small truck that raced from the scene.

"Just hanging on the back of the truck. It backed out of here so fast, said Stewart. "I thought he was shot. That's what I told Tommy Lee 'Looked like somebody has been shot on the back of the truck.'"

Investigators say 24-year-old Edgrin Gibson was shot in the lower abdomen and is listed in critical condition. Twenty-four year old Robert Polk is also in critical condition after being shot multiple times.

"Apparently at least two groups of individuals had an argument earlier in the day," said JPD Assistant chief Lee Vance. "Some suspects returned to 175 moon and gunfire erupted."

Police say one of the shooters is one of the two men listed in critical condition. So far no weapons have not recovered.
