Police find items linked to missing family in dumpster

It's a clear and cool Monday afternoon in the Jackson metro area. I'm Howard Ballou with a look at some of the news stories you will see on WLBT in this first week of November.

Jackson Police have found items linked to a family reported missing in Copiah County in a dumpster in south Jackson.

Four people were hospitalized following a three vehicle accident, around the noon hour, on Highway 49 at Kennebrew Road, in Hinds County. One person was transported in a medical helicopter.

And, 17-year-old Shaun Brown of Jackson remains behind bars after going before a judge this morning for a preliminary hearing on the murder of pro-fisherman, James "Jimmy" Johnson last month.

In sports, MSU quarterback, Dak Prescott's mother, has passed away and it's not clear whether he will play with the team this coming weekend.
