The Canton football team must forfeit their win over Callaway on October 25th because they played an ineligible player. That was the ruling handed down by the MHSAA on Monday.
Canton had a player ejected the game before against Vicksburg, and still played that player against Callaway the following week when he was supposed to sit out.
The ruling returns Callaway to an undefeated record on the season (11-0). While Canton is now 3-7 overall and more importantly 2-4 in district play, with only a small chance left to make the playoffs.
