Man shot and dumped at Jackson intersection

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Jackson Police officer discovered a man lying at the intersection of McDowell Road and Gallatin Street around at 1:41 a.m. Friday. The man had been shot multiple times.

He was in and out of consciousness, but said he had been shot near the Briar Cliff South Apartments on Rainey Road, and wasn't sure how he got to McDowell and Gallatin.

The man was taken to UMMC and was immediately taken into surgery. His condition is unknown at this time.

Police later discovered that the victim had left his residence around 10 p.m. in his girl friend's vehicle, a 1995 Red Toyota Camera. It was found around 11:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Mason Blvd. at an abandoned house that was on fire.
