Mother, son murdered in Oxford identified

Cool football weather on this TGIF Friday afternoon in Jackson metro area. I'm Howard Ballou with a look at some of the news stories you will see on WLBT.

The victims of a double homicide in Oxford have been identified by police, as Dr. Carol Lavett Gary, 43, and her son, Patrick Earl Gary, Jr., 12, found dead this morning at a home at 292 County Road 301.

Plus, a Jackson Police officer discovered a man, who had been shot multiple times, lying in the road at the intersection of McDowell Road and Gallatin Street early this morning.

And, a large number of law enforcement officers from several jurisdictions are at a Copiah County home to assist in the search for a missing man.

Also, interstate traffic comes to a standstill on I-55 in Yazoo County, after crashes involving big trucks and a separate single vehicle wreck.
