Man walking along interstate struck by vehicle

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

 A man walking along the dark and busy I-55 north was hit by a vehicle Saturday night.

JPD Officer Colendula Green said it happened north of the Fortification Street Exit.

 The 911 call was reported shortly before 8 p.m. The unidentified man was transported to a local hospital. His injuries are not known at this time.

 He is believed to have been in critical condition when transported.

No charges have been filed at this time.
