Jury convicts Jesse Mae Pollard in kidnap case

The weekend is almost here and it's an overcast Thursday afternoon in the Jackson metro area. I'm Howard Ballou with a look at some of the news stories you will see on WLBT.

A federal jury has convicted Jesse Mae Brown Pollard, the mother of former University of Alabama basketball player Devonta Pollard, of kidnapping a 6-year-old relative to pressure the girl's mother in a dispute over a piece of land and a portable storage shed in east Mississippi.

Plus, Former WLBT meteorologist Eric Law is expected to plead guilty to a sexual battery charge.

And, the City of Jackson's boil water advisory will continue until further notice because of a recent loss in water pressure. The advisory only affects customers of the Surface Water System.

In sports, former WNBA player, Lasondra Barrett returns home.
