Jackson police arrested two people Thursday morning in connection with the theft of appliances from south Jackson homes.
One man was arrested on Terry road around 11 a.m. The items were taken from a house on Pinebrook Road, just a few blocks away.
Residents reported seeing the truck backed into the house earlier in the week, when the owner said he had an air conditioner, refrigerator and stove taken from his rental house.
A second individual was arrested at Gallatin Street Appliance.
The victim says he's owned homes for eight years in Jackson, and has never had any problems.
"It's a terrible tragedy for citizens that live here in the city of Jackson to have to put up with stuff like this," said Marshall Ray. "They work so hard to live and have basics in life, and then for somebody to be watching, then come in behind them and steal their refrigerator, stoves and appliances out of their homes, it makes it very difficult."
It's possible other homes in the neighborhood were also hit by the appliance thieves. The victim says it will cost him $2,000 to replace the stolen items.
