Former Terry High School coach sued

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A former Terry High School coach and detention employee has been named in a lawsuit filed in U-S District Court today.

The federal lawsuit states 25-year-old Damien Anderson, who resigned from the school last week, repeatedly had sex with a Terry High student in the school's detention center and gymnasium and in various hotels in Hinds County.

Anderson is a recent graduate of Mississippi State University where he played defensive back for the football team.

Attached to the lawsuit is a nude picture and lewd text message sent to the female student identified as Jane Doe.

The suit also alleges Anderson purchased alcoholic beverages for the teenager.

The girl's parent filed a police report against Anderson which Terry Police Chief, Bracy Coleman, acknowledged, but no charges have been filed yet.

Terry High School principal William Sellers and the Hinds County School District are also named as defendants.
