The top lawman in Summit, Mississippi, a small town of 1,800, says his town has a dog problem. Chief Kenny Cotton told a local paper that he "Would round up and euthanize stray dogs in an effort to control their growing population."

The chief took us on a quick tour of an area near downtown. We really didn't see evidence of a dog problem, but the chief says they come out at night.

If we get an aggressive dog, that is attacking someone personally or property, we would deal with it," said Chief Cotton. "Our policy is to put it down."

The chief said he had not seen the newspaper article written about his comments on dogs to the town council, so he would not say if he was misquoted.
