Gary Kubiak out as Texans head coach

HOUSTON, TX (KLTV) - The Houston Texans are the first team in 2013 to fire their head coach, cutting Gary Kubiak on Friday morning.

NFL.com is reporting that Houston Texans head coach Kubiak was fired by management following a 2-11 start to the season.

The Texans, who many thought were a Super Bowl contender, won their first two games of the season before losing a franchise-record 11 straight.

Houston's latest lost came on Thursday night, as the Texans fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-20.

Kubiak, 52, was in his eight season with the Texans. He was 61-64 with the team. The Texans were back-to-back AFC South champions in the last two years, earning Kubiak Coach of the Year honors in 2011.
