JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Prosecutors have begun calling witnesses in a murder trial where the victim died after being run over by a car. Jeycob England was arrested in July of 2011, for the murder of 23 year old Scotty Ford.

England is charged with deliberate design murder. Ford died from injuries he sustained.

Ford was from Utah, and was in Mississippi selling home security systems.

Prosecutors called Briget Gillardi, Jeycob England.s ex-girlfriend, to the stand Tuesday. While on the stand she said the two men began arguing over her at the Electric Cowboy nightclub, which ended at the target on I-55.

In between there, Gillardi says England, Ford and the friends they were with, ran into each other at the Murphy's gas station on County Line road.

There, Gillardi says England backed her car into Ford's car, then drove to the Target parking lot.

There she testified that the passengers in both cars got out, and began fighting, and arguing.

Scotty Ford was struck by a car driven by England, as he left the scene. Gillardi also testified that England wasn't drinking that night.

If convicted, Jeycob England could face life in prison.
