MOST WANTED: Help solve the murder of Ricky Saxton

Ricky Saxton Ricky Saxton
YAZOO CITY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Leads have gone cold in the shooting death of Ricky Saxton of Yazoo City. They are hoping a $13,000 reward will help find the killer or killers.

On November 13th Ricky Saxton, a Yazoo City businessman, received several calls about a car for sale. He left the office that morning to go check on it.

Authorities say most everyone knew Saxton was in the business of purchasing vehicles. But no one knows who made those calls, or if the calls came from the killer.

Saxton drove to Benton, not far away. That was the last time anyone saw him alive.

A massive search was launched. The next day, his tow truck was located on Dale Road in Benton. Saxton's body was lying next to it. He had been shot to death.

Investigators say someone had gone through his pockets, possibly searching for money.

Was he lured to the area, and then murdered for cash? This case remains under close scrutiny. The Yazoo City Crime Stoppers are offering a $3-thousand dollar reward. A group of concerned citizens in Yazoo County is offering another $10-thousand.

Call Crimestoppers at 662-746-8477 if you have information that can lead to the arrest and indictment of the person who gunned down the 57 year old businessman.
