Cabernet Cranberry-Kamquat Sauce


  • 2 1/2 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup cabernet sauvignon
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar 
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup seeded, sliced fresh kumquats


Bring cranberries, wine, sugars, and kumquats to a boil in a medium saucepan, reduce heat, and simmer.  Stir often until cranberries burst and release juices; approximately 15-20 minutes.

Let cool.

Tip: this can be made 5 days ahead, covered and chilled.
