Two Warren county men are awaiting their initial appearances after being arrested in an on-going multi-county theft ring. Warren county officials busted both at a home on Freeman Lane in Flowers Tuesday.
The stolen tractors, fiber optics and other goods were intended for the black market. The stolen heavy equipment included backhoes, trailers and hundreds of thousands of dollars in equipment from Louisiana and Mississippi.
Lawmen found some of the stolen heavy equipment at the home of Brandon Dax Freeman, 46 years old of Flowers.
Sheriff Martin Pace said Freeman is on parole for a previous cocaine conviction and will not be granted bond.
Twenty-five year old Steven Elrod is also behind bars. Both are charged with receiving stolen property.
A tip led authorities to a wooded area in Bolton Monday night. That's where 36 year old Christina Thornton of Louisiana and Charles Alexander of Texas were taken into custody. Much of the equipment had been dismantled, according to investigators.
The investigation continues and more arrests are possible.
