Freezing temperatures until Wednesday afternoon - - Jackson, MS

Single digit temperatures possible tonight

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Extreme cold continues for our area with low temperatures tonight in the single digits to lower teens. Wind chills will only be an issue this evening as the wind finally calms overnight.

Tuesday, despite sunshine, will still be cold with the high a little warmer than today, near freezing. More teens are likely tomorrow night and Wednesday morning, before sunshine and southerly winds bring us back to 40 degree weather Wednesday.

Wet weather, but much warmer weather looks likely for Thursday through Sunday with highs in the 60s and lows in the 40s.

A Hard Freeze Warning remains in effect until Wednesday. Wear layers of clothing if you must venture out in this cold. A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect tonight for parts of our area.
