Hinds County has a new Emergency Operations Director.
On Monday, the Board voted in Ricky Moore to the post. He replaces Mark Young, who was fired in August.
For 20 years, Moore served as Assistant EOC Director under the late Larry Fisher, and has been passed over for the Director's job in the past.
District 5 Supervisor Tony Greer tells us that employees of Hinds County EOC are pleased with the decision, and MEMA has also called to offer congratulations.
Moore will make $72,000 a year.
