School district addresses possible water problem

UTICA, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

If you live in Utica, you may be experiencing a drop in water pressure due to several water main breaks.

The Hinds County School District is currently monitoring the situation.

Yesterday there was a drop in pressure due to a city frozen line that affected the water in the Utica Middle School.

Water was delivered as a safety precaution for students and city and district maintenance department are investigating the issue now.

The school district tells us that they would like parents and the community to know that the water is working fine in the elementary school and in the gym.

All students have access to restrooms on the campus and the cafeteria has not been affected.

The city has not issued a boil water notice as of 2:00 p.m. today.
