Richland County Sheriff's deputies arrested three men wanted in connection with a stabbing and home invasion of a mentally disabled couple.
Kevin Peay Jr., 18 , Adam Barber, 26 and Andrew Moore, 20 were arrested in Lexington County after the department was following up on a tip.
The three men are charged with attempted murder, two counts of armed robbery, burglary, and two counts of kidnapping, Lott said.
Sgt. Curtis Wilson said the attack occurred at about 4:00 a.m. Thursday at an apartment in the Briargate Apartments and Condos in the 300 block of Menlo Drive. It's off Broad River Road near Interstate 20.
Wilson said the men forced their way into the home, tied up the man, and stabbed him in the upper body.
Wilson also said the woman inside the home may have been fondled by at least one of the assailants.
"The female victim was threatened with an unknown object and held her against her will," Wilson said. "At this time they took indecent liberties with the victim."
The suspects stole a television and left.
The condition of the stabbing victim remains unknown, but he was taken to Palmetto Health Richland.
Wilson said both victims are in their 50s and mentally disabled.
Investigators have not provided a detailed description of the suspects in this case.
