A sixth person has been arrested in connection with Saturday night's dog fighting bust in Rankin County. Larzavier D. LLoyd of Morton was arrested Tuesday and charged with being a spectator at a dog fight. The charge is a felony.
The Rankin County Sheriff's Department has obtained warrants for three more individuals and expects to have them in custody soon.
The Rankin County Sheriff's Department says it will be responsible for sheltering and feeding the dogs until the case is complete, which could be up to a year.
The other five people that were arrested appeared before a judge Tuesday morning in Brandon.
Reddick Raynard Kelly, Kyree Alexander Cooper, Sedrick Demond Lyles and Benjamin Nelson Williams were charged with being a spectator at a dog fight.
Bond was set for those charged as spectators at $25,000.
Rankin County District Attorney Michael Guest made it clear that dog fighting won't be tolerated in Rankin County.
A preliminary hearing in the case has been set for January 21st.
