Not your typical convenience store

Opium, guns, and stolen items seized from Northside store

A gorgeous, warmer Thursday afternoon in the Jackson metro area. I'm Howard Ballou with a look at some of the news stories you will see on WLBT.

Law enforcement raided a Jackson convenience store on West Northside Drive and found a lot more than chewing gum for sale. Stolen goods and what appeared to be the narcotic opium were seized.

Plus, it appears foul play was not involved in the death of Madison teen Abigail Bonner after a grand jury ruling this week.

And, a Pearl man, Jason Zebert, pled guilty in federal court to theft of government funds.

In sports, football coach Forest Williams is leaving MRA.

Clear skies and 62 degrees. Be sure to watch your full First Alert Forecast.

Of course, you will see any breaking news first on WLBT and you can follow us on Facebook, Twitter and www.msnewsnow.com.
