Burn ban for Rankin County, effective immediately

A special meeting of the Rankin County Board of Supervisors was called order a burn ban for all unincorporated areas of the county, effective immediately.

Plus, new state Superintendent Carey Wright is emphasizing more money for state-funded preschool and to improve literacy instruction in early grades.

And, a Missing Person's report has been filed with the Hinds County Sheriff's Office for 16 year old Justice Moore and a warrant has been issued for the arrest of 41-year-old Jessie "Puddy" Maxwell of Jackson.
